To our family, friends and followers! We hope you have had a lovely relaxing Christmas and are ready for the year ahead!
Sadly, our Christmas did not go as planned! We both unfortunately came down with norovirus two days before Christmas and both felt absolutely awful! To top it all off, Katie fell on Christmas Day and fractured her elbow and then Dot fell on Boxing Day and fractured her spine and pelvis! They too also caught the dreaded lurgy!
On a positive, we did manage to have a great New Year at Lea Hall for a few days!

AND, we can finally share that we are going to be grandparents again at the end of July (thank you Sam and Beam).

We were due back on Daisy on 14th January but we have had to extend our stay in Derby for another month so that we can continue to help Dot in her recovery.
Paul has been back to check on Daisy and she is doing well. No sign of damp or anything untoward. She just looks very lonely and abandoned. We can’t wait to get back aboard.
Mind you, even if we had wanted to, we wouldn’t have been able to move her just yet as the marina is frozen over and everyone has been told to stay put to avoid damaging boats. I think the ducks are finding this a bit strange! Even the olive oil is frozen!

Some of our boater friends have also sent us pictures of how cold it has been on the cut and so maybe, that is the silver lining about being back at Derby!

Anyway, we wanted to update you all in case you were wondering what has been going on! We will let you know as soon as we are back on board to continue our adventure.
Lots of love,
Jo & Paul xx
