Yesterday I did a clothes wash whilst Paul did some odd jobs around Daisy.
I was very proud of myself for locating a laundrette on Google maps, which was just under two miles from the quays where we are moored.
I stuffed my HUUB rucksack full of all our smelly clothes and set off. I panicked a bit at first as I have a fear of getting lost but once I realised that I really only had to go on one road, it was fine. Although that road was uphill all the way and so it took me over an hour to get there!
The ladies at the launderette were amazingly helpful and showed me what to do. In total it cost £8.00 for the wash, £1.20 for the wash tabs and £4.50 to use the tumble dryers. I did manage to drop a pair of knickers on the floor, but thankfully they had been through the washer!
It was good fun chatting to the ladies whilst the washing was being done and they even gifted me 14 fresh eggs that still had hay on them. Apparently they have a customer who regularly brings them fresh goodies in.
Some couple of hours later I walked back to Daisy, put the washing away and then we went out together to do a food shop. I can’t believe that a whole day passed so quickly!
