Today has been the opposite ends of the spectrum. We set off from Doncaster and proceeded effortlessly along the South Yorkshire Navigation. As the video below shows, all was good with some great sights and sounds (carry on reading after the video).
As we progressed onto the River Don however, things began to change and not in our favour! We struggled to find a mooring that we were both comfortable with and proceeded, perhaps unwisely, to the next mooring spot.
However, during this last period of sailing, the winds picked up to a level that we both found intimidating. Life jackets were worn and extreme cautions were taken. Unfortunately though Daisy Duke sustained a few bumps and bruises along the way and has several war wounds.
When we finally reached our destination this evening, we had been sailing for approximately 6 and a half hours which left both myself and Jo tired and exhausted.
A still calm now surrounds us as i write this blog which is a contradiction as to how our day panned out!
