So today we were supposed to be on the 9.30 flight at Tinsley Locks. This is not a plane flight, but a navigation up 12 locks in a row. You have to book in with CRT to do it.
When we woke up however, it was rainy and very windy. I called CRT to see if it was still on and they, surprisingly, said yes. So, we met Nigel at Holmes Lock at 9.30am and he assisted with the first lock (well actually I let him do it all). By this time, the weather was horrendous and so we made the sensible and confident decision to abort. Nigel kindly advised us to moor up at Jordan Lock so we could try again tomorrow.
I managed to use the wind to dry some towels.

I also very proudly made a fire in the stove like a good wife. Unfortunately though I managed to burn the new carpet Paul put in π. He has kindly fixed it though by putting a nice little rug over the burn!

We also spent the day trying to get Zak more acclimatised to the boat. He really doesn’t like the locks and tries to jump out. We’ve tried shutting him in the boat and tying him up but it just seems to stress him further. So Paul used the fold-up bike to cycle into nearby Rotheram to pick up a dog crate which we have made all cosy for him (Zak that is). Hopefully it will work and it will certainly stop him trying to escape.
